What are Fissure Seals?

Fissure seals are thin coatings placed over the pits and fissures of back teeth to help form a protective layer. It stops the food from getting in the tiny grooves in the teeth and thus preventing tooth decay.

Treatment Details:

1. We prepare the tooth by cleaning and drying the surface. We then apply the sealant within the grooves on the tooth.
2. We use a blue light to harden the material, bonding it to your teeth.
3. Once it has hardened, it will provide the tooth a layer of protection.

Most children and parents are unaware of the grooves in their back molar teeths until  a decay occurs.

Hence why we strongly recommend regular check-up and cleans to prevent further oral health concerns. Regular brushing alone is not substantial as often toothbrush bristles are too large to clean in between grooves.

So, next time you visit Dental Cube, we encourage you ask us about fissure seals!
